Furniture removal

Furniture removal in Colorado Springs, from the room it's in

The old sectional, the dresser that won't fit the new place, the sleeper sofa that took three people to get into the basement in 2009. We carry it out, we don't drag it, and if it still has life in it we try to find it a home before the dump.

Furniture is the single most common thing on the truck, and the single most common reason people put off calling is the stairs. A lot of Colorado Springs is split-level, and the big piece is nearly always in the lower level or on a deck above the yard. That is exactly the job the crew is built for. Two people, a four-wheel dolly, straps, moving blankets for the doorframes and the patience to take a door off its hinges when the piece needs an extra inch.

One piece or a houseful, the process is the same. You show the crew what is going, they check the route out and name a price, you say yes, and it goes. For a whole house, see the estate cleanout page; for a rental's worth between tenants, the rental cleanout page.

What still has life in it

A couch with no stains and good frame, a solid-wood dresser, a dining set, a desk: these have a second home waiting in a city where 39 percent of households rent and a new family arrives on orders every week of the summer. Where possible, usable pieces are routed to donation rather than the landfill. Upholstery with pet damage, mattresses, particleboard that has been wet and anything broken goes to the dump, and we are honest about which pile a piece is in.

The piano, the safe, the sleeper sofa

Heavy single items are a quote on their own. A spinet or upright piano, a gun safe, a sleeper sofa with the steel mechanism, a solid-oak entertainment center: tell us what it is and where it sits, and whether there are stairs. Those are usually a two-person job with the right equipment, sometimes a three-person job, and the price reflects the crew and the time rather than the cubic yards.

What the price covers

Carry-out

From any room, any level, any deck. Doors and railings protected, hinges pulled when the piece needs it.

The sort

Usable furniture set aside for donation or reuse where possible; broken or soiled pieces to the dump.

Disposal fees

Landfill charges by weight. A sectional is light for its size; a sleeper sofa is not.

The floor after

Vacuumed or swept where the piece sat. No dust rectangle, no lost socks.

Questions about furniture removal

Can you take it from upstairs?

Yes. Upstairs, downstairs, the walk-out basement, the deck. The crew looks at the route before quoting so the stairs are in the price, not a surprise.

Do you donate furniture?

Where possible, yes. Usable pieces are routed to donation or reuse before anything goes to the landfill. We don't name a partner or promise a percentage because acceptance changes with what they have room for.

Will you take just one couch?

Yes. That's the $175 to $275 line, and it's a same-day job most days.

What about the bed and mattress together?

Frame, headboard, box spring and mattress all go. The mattress and box spring carry a disposal surcharge, which is listed by name on the quote.

Can you disassemble it?

Yes. Bed frames, sectionals, desks and shelving come apart at the house when that is the only way out the door. Tools are on the truck.

Do you take office furniture?

Yes, from a home office or a business. For a whole office, see the commercial page; we can work after hours.
