Haul with us
We book junk removal and cleanout work across Colorado Springs and the towns around it for independent local crews. If you run a truck, or want to work on one, here is what we look for and how to get in touch.
Cheyenne Mountain Junk Co. is a local booking service, not an employer of crews. Homeowners, landlords and executors call us; the hauling is done by independent crews we work with, and those crews hire their own people. So there are two doors here: one for a crew owner who wants booked jobs, one for someone who wants to work on a crew.
What we look for in a crew
- General liability insurance in force, with the certificate available before the first booking.
- A business registration for the city or county where the crew operates.
- A truck and equipment fit for stairs, hillsides and mountain driveways: dollies, straps, blankets, saws for hot tubs and sheds.
- Honest pricing after a look, with surcharges named, and no habit of adding to the number at the truck.
- A real donation and recycling practice, so usable items don't go straight to the landfill.
- A clean record on disposal. Anyone who has dumped a load where it shouldn't go doesn't get our calls.
- Calm, courteous people, because a good share of the work is estates and hoarding situations.
What crews look for in a worker
- The ability to lift and carry heavy, awkward things safely, all day, at 6,000 feet.
- A driver's licence and a clean driving record for anyone who will drive.
- Reliability: showing up in the window the customer was given.
- Judgment: knowing a paint can from a bag of clothes, a keep pile from a dump pile, and when to ask.
How to get in touch
- Email hello@cheyennemountainjunk.com with "crew" or "work" in the subject line.
- For a crew: give the company name, the towns you cover, the size of your truck and a copy of your certificate of insurance.
- For work: give your name, where you live, what you have done before, and whether you drive.
- We reply within a few business days. Crew enquiries we vet ourselves; work enquiries we pass to the crews we work with, who contact you directly if they have a place.
